Professor John Fyfe, International Management Specialist & Advisor to Governments
We are privileged to announce the very influential and well respected Professor John Fyfe as Host and Day 2 Keynote speaker. Prof Fyfe will set the scene for our skills conference which will be held on 25th April 2018.
Professor Fyfe has experience in the private sector as both a director and strategic advisor to a number of companies on management and development issues, and also holds or has held, senior appointments at Universities and Business Schools, including Oxford, Manchester, Amsterdam, Henly and Harvard. Previously a Trade Union Leader, a Non Executive Director of British Coal Enterprises and employment advisor to the British Government and Governments throughout the world. John has been instrumental in setting up local community partnerships for economic development, and the mentoring of leaders throughout the world and has championed our event for the last 4 years.

Director Fuel Cycle Solutions, National Nuclear Laboratory
NNL have been heavily involved and supported TotalDECOM since its inception in 2014. TotalDECOM 2018 is no exception; we warmly welcome Fiona Rayment, Director Fuel Cycle Solutions, National Nuclear Laboratory, to lead our day 2 skills conference – 25th April 2018
Fiona has over twenty five years nuclear industry experience working primarily within, operations and strategic planning roles across a number of different nuclear sites, both in the UK and internationally. She is a chartered Chemist and chartered Engineer with a PhD in Chemistry from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and of the UK Nuclear Institute. She has an MBA from Manchester Business School.
She is the Director for NIRO within the UK’s National Nuclear Laboratory. Fiona is a board member of the Nuclear Institute and is chair of the UK’s Nuclear Skills Strategy Group; the strategic body that oversees UK nuclear sector skills requirements. Fiona is a member of Research Council UK Fusion Advisory Panel, the Office of Nuclear Regulation Independent Advisory Panel, and is director on the board of the American Nuclear Society. She is also a member of Idaho National Laboratory's Nuclear Science and Technology Advisory Committee.
Fiona regularly represents the UK at a number of international meetings, and provides keynote / plenary speeches at a variety of international nuclear conferences. Currently she is chair of the Advisory Panel for the Nuclear Energy Agency NI 2050 Technology Roadmap.
Keynote Session Host - Day 1
Rt Hon Professor Charles Hendry
We are delighted that The Rt Hon Professor Charles Hendry, ex Minister of State for Energy will open up our day one Keynote conference.
Charles Hendry was Conservative Member of Parliament for Wealden from 2001-2015 and was Minister of State for Energy from May 2010 until September 2012. He was previously the Conservative Party’s spokesman on energy issues, from 2005-2010, holding the portfolio for longer than any other spokesman.
He has recently concluded the Hendry Review of Tidal Lagoons on behalf of the Secretary of State for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy.
On leaving Ministerial office, Prime Minister David Cameron appointed him as his Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmemhnistan, a role he continued until leaving Parliament in 2015. He is Commissioner of the UK Pavilion at Expo 2017 in Kazakhstan on the theme of Future Energy.
Since leaving Ministerial office, he has been appointed as a Visiting Professor at the University of Edinburgh Business School, as President of the British Institute of Energy Economics, and as Patron of the Nuclear Institute.
He works extensively across the energy and trade sectors and we warmly welcome his input and involvement in TotalDECOM for the 2nd consecutive year.
